PROF. (DR.) R. K. CHAUBEY

Prof. (Dr.) R. K. Chaubey is currently the Head, Department of Law, University of Allahabad. He has done Master in Laws from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and Ph.D. from Kurukshetra University. His field of Specialization is Indian Constitution, Taxation, Intellectual Property Rights, Human Rights & Cyber Law. He has been a member of various Academic Bodies like Indian Law Institute, New Delhi, Indian Society of International Law, New Delhi and Transparency International India (The Coalition Against Corruption), New Delhi. He has got published 29 Research Papers in Various National and International Journal of repute.

Educational and Academic Qualifications:

• B.Sc., LL.M. (Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi).
• Ph.D. (Kurukshetra University) and Title of the Ph. D. Thesis was “Concept of Autonomy and Indian Federal Structure”.

• Research Guidance-8 students working for D.Phil. Degree, ten are awarded D.Phil. and two ready for submission.

International and National Conference

• Indian Society of International Law, New Delhi is contemplating is to recognize the one day seminar on pharmaceuticals patents: Health Care, Politics and Paradox on 07th October, 2006. The Seminar is sponsored by the E.U. – India Trade and Investment Development Programme – IPR Component, New Delhi, My article titled “Intellectual Property Rights Regimes and Public Health” has been accepted for presentation in the seminar.
• Participated in the National Seminar on IPR Creation and Management in Academic and Research Institutions from 24th and 25th February, 2006 at Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.
• Participated in the National Seminar on IPR – IT and Broadcasting Rights from 17th to 19th February, 2006 at Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Allahabad.
• Participated as a delegate and presented a paper entitled “Challenging Facing Indian Federalism and the New Trends in the International Relationship” in the International Conference on “The Emerging Trends in International Criminal Jurisprudence” organized by the Indian Society of International Law on 10-11 December, 2005
• Participated in the National Seminar on “New Dimension of Human Creative Activities and Their Protection under the Copyright Law – A Human Approach”, organized by Faculty of Law, Kumaun University, S.S.J. Campus, Almora and The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, New Delhi, on 10-11 September, 2005, and presented a paper entitled “Infringement of Copyright”.
• Participated in the National Seminar on IPR – IT and Entertainment from 18th to 20th February, 2005 at Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Allahabad.
• Participated as a delegate and presented a paper entitled “Geographical Indications and TRIPs Agreement” in the “Second International Conference” of the Indian Society of International Law, held at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, 14-17 November, 2004.

• Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Government Degree College, Phaphamau, Allahabad is contemplating to organize the National Seminar and sponsored by Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi on “Intellectual Property Rights: Plant Varieties and Genome Conversation” on October 14-15, 2006 at Allahabad. My article titled “IPR and Indian Traditional Knowledge” has been accepted for presentation in the workshop.
• Participating in International Seminar On Plant Biology and Environment: Changing Scenario, organized by the University of Allahabad, on 17-19 December, 2008 and presented a paper entitled “Plant Biology and Environment: Changing Scenario”.

• Participated in Seven Day Training Programme on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Education, organized by Faculty of Law, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh and the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, New Delhi on February 28 to March 05, 2004.
