FAQ,s

The Common Law Admission Test is known as CLAT. It is an entrance exam that participating law schools across India administer to students seeking admission to different law degrees. Undergraduate students enrolled in five-year dual degree programs (with an LLB and degrees ranging from BA to BSc, BBA, and B.Com) and graduate students choosing to pursue LLM programs are both eligible to take the CLAT.
22 National Law Universities administer the CLAT entrance exam (before, it was only administered by 14 NLUs in CLAT-2014). The inaugural CLAT Core Committee, which was made up of vice chancellors from participating NLUs, determined in 2008 that the test should be administered by participating NLUs in the chronological sequence in which they were established. NLSIU, Bangalore administered the inaugural CLAT test in 2008.
