Biography

Dr. Akhilesh Kumar Khan is a professor of Indian History at LLOYD LAW COLLEGE. Dr. Khan is an active alumnus of The Ramjas College, University of Delhi. He has completed his B.A., M.A., M. Phil, LL.B. Further he has completed his Ph.D. Thesis entitled ‘Hindu Women & Property Rights in Ancient India’. His area of research majorly focuses on, ‘Women Studies’ & ‘Police Reforms’. He has also been the College topper while pursuing his masters. Dr. Khan is an experienced professional with 12+ years, heading Lloyd Law College as Deputy Director. He is an educational enthusiast, business developer and a policy developer with infallible management skills, and a considerate facilitator of law aspirants at Lloyd Law College. Teaching is an art which can only be owned by a true giver who appreciates moral principles which a teacher should follow while catering the needs of all students and not to mention each student who came across with Dr. Khan confines his teachings and acknowledges his adroitness of managing an institute, while keeping both students and organization in a favorable state of affairs. Apart from these, he actively looks into the organization of Moot Courts Competitions, National Conferences, Seminars, Workshops, Faculty Development Programs etc. representing the college globally.

Vision

Dr. Khan strives to make education accessible to one and all. He believes that the power of education can uplift even the destitute and put them in the mainstream of our society. He toils hard to build a congenial and an amicable atmosphere amongst the mentors and the mentee, thus laying the foundation for a lasting relationship and building a healthy society. He works diligently for the institution, helping it to emerge as a promising centre for education and learning in global academia. He foresees that within a decade the Indian education will have a global impact given the commitment of assured quality and perseverance are what we as an active citizen, academician and parents are striving for.

Experience

Dr. Khan began his career in early 2007, as a Guest Faculty of Indian History, at the School of Open Learning, affiliated to University of Delhi. He served there until 2009, for a period of two years on this position wherein he taught the undergraduate students.

Dr. Khan joined Lloyd Law College in August, 2009, as Assistant Professor, History. Lloyd Entrance Test (LET) is a brainchild of Dr. Khan along with one of his colleagues. Year 2010 is a landmark in the history of Lloyd Law College, as in this year the LET was rolled out. It was his idea of this entrance test that led to the enhancement in the quality of the students, thus adding to the reputation of the College and helping it carve out its own niche in National and International Academia. He served diligently until August 2013.

In February, 2014, Dr. Khan re-joined Lloyd Law College as the Chief Academic Coordinator. In March, 2015 he was assigned as the Head of Department and subsequently promoted as Deputy Director & Director (Admissions) in August, 2017. Dr. Akhilesh Kumar Khan has been serving the association selflessly and voraciously.

Roles & Responsibilities

With effective interpersonal skills, people management and strategic approach Dr. Khan shuffles his academic and administrative role.

  • In collaboration with the Director, Lloyd Law College provides vision, leadership, and direction to the development and institutional performance including budgeting, planning and management.
  • Manages and monitors governance of college, guides employees and oversees their work to ensure compliance with the college policies and procedures, ethical practices and guidelines of government and accrediting organizations.
  • Provides leadership to the area of student support services to ensure administration, faculty and staff in this area are well informed and oriented towards common goals, oversee training, goal setting and evaluation, and professional development opportunities in the area of student affairs.
  • Provides guidance and serves as a resource to department heads, faculty and staff for academic progress.
  • Provides leadership for the marketing and branding of the college to attract quality students.
  • With his enriching experience in the field of education sector he forms strategies and has closely worked with the educational surveys and has successfully uplifted the rankings of the college over the years.
  • Organizes annual cultural and sports event in order to give better experience to all students and pushes them to win the zenith of success across nations.
  • Provides leadership and guidance for organizing Annual Job Fest and has been successfully inviting more than 90 corporate and legal firms for the placement of the students.
