Understanding the subject-wise weighting is essential to acing the CLAT PG Exam. The following information pertains to the weighting for the CLAT PG Paper Pattern 2025:
Section | CLAT PG Exam Pattern 2025 | Weightage (in %) |
---|---|---|
Section 1 | Constitutional Law | 60 |
Section 2 | Other law subjects such as criminal law, tort law, IPR, contract law, international law, etc. | 60 |
Total | 120 |
In the CLAT PG exam schedule 2025, the Constitutional Law part is the heavyweight champion. The majority of the questions should center on this topic.
Because of their significance, you should devote a significant portion of your preparation time to learning about concepts like Emergency Provisions, Directive Principles, and Fundamental Rights, to mention a few.
This suggests that we should devote more study time to this topic if previous exams regularly had about 60% of the questions from Constitutional Law.
The CLAT PG Exam Pattern 2025 assigns equal weight to each topic, with Constitutional Law occupying the top spot. Jurisprudence, torts, criminal law, and other topics are covered.
It is a calculated step to concentrate on these topics when you have a firm understanding of constitutional law. For example, if 30% of the test consists of Contract Law and Torts together, try to be an expert in both of these areas as well.
By studying past years' question papers, you may get a true understanding of the distribution of weights and choose where to concentrate your efforts.
The emphasis of the postgraduate course syllabus is on the candidates' subject-matter expertise. Through the CLAT LLM Exam syllabus, the candidate's understanding of the several statutes indicated in the table below will be evaluated.
|
|
---|---|
Criminal Law | Constitutional Law |
Jurisprudence | Property Law |
Public International Law | Administrative Law |
Tax Law | Family Law |
Labour and International Law | Law of Contract |
Environmental Law | Company Law |
Torts |
The 120 questions on the PG-CLAT test pattern can be answered in the allotted 120 minutes by the applicant. Every question is worth one mark, and every wrong answer deducts 0.25 points from the total.
