Speaker : Mr. Bharat Chugh, Advocate, Supreme Court of India, Partner – Luthra and Luthra Partners, Law offices

On a fine September morning the students of LLB Semester I were blessed to witness the great Mr. Bharat Chugh, a Knight in a shining armor for many law students, a real life Idol in action. Mr. Bharat Chugh an Ex-Metropolitan Magistrate, A Delhi Judicial Services Topper, A faculty of law graduate from Jamia Milia Islamia was invited by our Director Dr. Md. Salim to enlighten the students on his journey, Importance of Judicial services and How students should not let the world put them down. Mr. Chugh also told us on why he came back to being a litigator, - “Judgeship is extremely fulfilling but I always used to miss the high that one gets on successfully arguing a challenging legal question, cross examining a tough witness or convincing a difficult bench," he said.
"The last three and half years on the bench have given me an insight into civil, commercial and criminal litigation, having had the opportunity of dealing with thousands of such cases. Armed with this experience, I am really looking forward to some great litigation."

The speaker enlightened us on the importance of judicial services and how people don’t opt for judicial services and go for other work such as corporate. He shared with us his journey on how he began as a litigator and practiced as a litigator for nearly two years. He told us on how his Dad wanted to see his son as a judge where he himself had practiced. He went on to tell us how challenging it is to be a judge and how it is also rewarding. He told us how being a judge gave him the power to change something from within even though little by little. He said he knows how much people make fun of Indian law system and how they say it is not doing anything for the betterment of the country, Being the youngest civil judge he said he felt that being a judge gave him the power to change something even though it was through baby steps at the time. ” Nothing can be changed overnight” he said, “but we moving in that direction is a start nonetheless”. Mr. Chugh also enlightened us on his decision to start practicing again,” I have always been a passionate litigator”

Mr. Chugh as gallant a man he already is also answered the students question with extreme ease. His exposure and experience was valiantly flowing through his words to us. His seminar was such that the students did not want him to go and just wanted to gain and learn as much they could from him. His presence here at Lloyd Law College,
Top ba llb colleges in noida,  enriched our minds and gave us the an idea as to how to follow our dreams.
